Have a laugh.
Then leave a light on.
Ghost stories are better when you have just let your guard down.
The account. The evidence. One last thing.
We tell the story as the witnesses and source accounts tell it. There is room for a dry aside before the trouble starts. Then we stay in the room with the people who experienced it, without breaking away to explain every noise.
Afterwards, we examine what can be checked: records, photographs, conflicting testimony, tricks and ordinary explanations. That section is part of the story, and it is always there to read.
Finally, we return to a detail the explanation leaves open. It may be another witness, an earlier account or something the surviving records cannot settle. We say how much weight it can bear. A known hoax stays a known hoax; the final chill must come from the sources.
Real cases, honestly labelled.
The people, places and source accounts are real. A reported event is not automatically a verified event. Each case links to its sources and has a separate evidence section, so you can enjoy the retelling before examining it.
We do not invent eyewitness dialogue, manufacture reader ratings or pass illustrations off as historical photographs. This first collection was written with AI assistance. Its audio is clearly labelled synthetic narration.
An independent voice.
The idea takes inspiration from the mix of curiosity, humour and investigation in shows such as The Why Files. ghoststories.boo is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by that show. The scripts, jokes, artwork and narration here are our own productions.
A small beginning.
Six casefiles. Three audio retellings. No subscription to get between you and a story. Save favourites on this device, choose your reading size, or queue up the audio for a quiet evening.
